Watch and dance together with the Snow Flake as the music plays on the background!

Dancing with the Snow is a Project for Computerized Animation at UNISINOS , Porto Alegre - RS, it was made by Pancatov, Chilman and Gwiny.

But how does it work?

Firstly, we split the audio into 8 frequency ranges, from the lowest to highest: Sub bass, Bass, Lower Mid-range, Mid-range, Upper Mid-range, Brilliance and Presence.  That gives 8 real time amplitude values to use for whatever we want.
As for the snow flake, it is was made using a ShaderGraph that, after a lot of math, results in the shape of something that resembles a snow flake. Plus, this graph uses many parameters to create the final shape, this is what we can modify in real time to result in changes in the final shape.
After some smoothing, we use the values from those channels we created to impact the parameters of the ShaderGraph.

We ended up doing a lot of tuning for every song in order to achieve as good of a result as we expected.

We learned how to make a snow flakes with the ShaderGraph with this video (we only understood the math enough to use it):

As for capturing the results from the music in real time, we learned with this series of videos:
